Rohit Moves Up to Second in ODI Batting Rankings, Right Behind Babar
Rohit Sharma has climbed to the second spot in the ICC ODI batting rankings, just behind Babar Azam, who remains at the top. This jump in rankings comes after Rohit’s impressive performance in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Even though India lost the series 2-0, Rohit stood out as the top scorer with 157 runs, averaging 52.33 across the three matches. His consistent scores of 58, 64, and 35 helped him rise one position in the rankings, surpassing Shubman Gill, who has now moved down to third place. Rohit now has 765 points, while Babar leads with 824 points.
In the Sri Lankan team, players like Avishka Fernando, Dunith Wellalage, Kusal Mendis, and Pathum Nissanka also made significant contributions with the bat. Nissanka, who was already in the top ten before the series, strengthened his position, while Mendis and Avishka also made notable improvements in their rankings.
Wellalage shined with the ball, especially in the final ODI, where he took 5 wickets for just 27 runs, boosting his ranking among bowlers.
