Saad Ahmed’s Five-For Decimates Stallions in MCL T20 Premier Eliminator!
Saad Fareed Ahmed once again proved why he’s one of the most feared bowlers in the Mississauga Cricket League, leading Mississauga Dolphins to a crushing 80-run victory over Mississauga Stallions-A in the MCL T20 Premier Eliminator match on September 16, 2024.
Batting first, the Dolphins set a strong foundation with Nandu Vishnu scoring a quick 65 off 44 balls, playing crucially through the middle overs. His knock was complemented by Syed Irfan Abbas, who provided the finishing fireworks with a blistering 53 off just 27 balls, pushing the total to a formidable 187/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
In response, the Stallions-A innings was immediately derailed by Saad Fareed Ahmed, who was on fire from the very first over. Delivering an absolute dream start for the Dolphins, Saad claimed three wickets in his first over, all first-ball ducks. The top order had no answers to his pace and movement, as Saad demolished their hopes of a successful chase. His remarkable five-wicket haul left Stallions reeling at 34/5 within the powerplay, effectively sealing their fate.
Saad’s spell, ending with 5 wickets, was instrumental in bowling out Stallions-A for a mere 107 in 19.2 overs, as they never found a way to recover from the early carnage. His ability to take crucial wickets under pressure continues to be a game-changer in the MCL, with this performance adding yet another milestone to his ever-growing list of achievements in the league.
