Australia Wins T20I Series with 13-Run Victory Over Pakistan

aus vs pak 2nd t20

Australia defended a modest total of 147 to beat Pakistan by 13 runs in a thrilling T20I in Sydney. The win gave Australia the series, with Spencer Johnson shining as the star bowler, taking 5 wickets for 26 runs.

Australia’s Batting Effort

Australia started fast, reaching 50 runs in just 3.1 overs thanks to Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk. But Haris Rauf struck twice to slow them down, and Abbas Afridi bowled well to keep things tight. Despite losing wickets, Australia’s middle order chipped in with small contributions to set a competitive target.

Pakistan’s Fielding Mistakes

Pakistan’s fielding let them down badly. They dropped several catches, allowing Australia to add extra runs. In a low-scoring match, these mistakes proved costly.

Pakistan’s Poor Start with the Bat

Chasing 148, Pakistan struggled from the start. Captain Mohammad Rizwan’s slow 16 runs from 26 balls added pressure, and they didn’t hit a boundary until the tenth over. By then, the required run rate was too high.

Usman Khan scored his first T20I fifty and, along with Irfan Khan, gave Pakistan hope with a 58-run partnership. But Johnson returned to dismiss both batters and end Pakistan’s chances.

A Deserving Win

Australia’s bowlers stayed disciplined, and their fielders backed them up. Pakistan’s batting and fielding couldn’t match their effort, making Australia deserving winners of the match and series.
