In a thrilling finale to the EPCA T20 Champions Trophy (2024), the Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC) emerged victorious over Rock Friends Cricket Club, clinching the title with a commanding 28-run win at the Super Division Final. A sensational performance by Ansar Ali Shabbir proved to be the cornerstone of MCC’s success, as he dazzled with the bat, narrowly missing out on a century.

Batting first, MCC posted an imposing total of 193/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Leading the charge was Ansar Ali Shabbir, whose scintillating 98 off 56 balls laid the foundation for MCC’s formidable total. His innings, punctuated by exquisite strokeplay, kept the scoreboard ticking at a brisk pace. Ansar received valuable support from Rehman Altaf, who contributed a steady 37 runs. Despite efforts to rein in MCC’s batting onslaught, Rock Friends’ bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Khaja Naseeruddin being the pick of the bowlers despite high economy rates across the lineup.
