Day 4 of the Cricket Canada Men’s T20 National Championship 2024 brought the group stages to a close, featuring intense battles as teams vied for a spot in the knockout rounds. Here’s a recap of all the action-packed matches that defined the day.

Match 1 – Batsman Park B: Ontario vs Manitoba

Ontario continued their dominant run in the tournament, putting up a strong total of 161/6 against Manitoba. The Ontario batters took charge early, setting a challenging target. Manitoba, in response, struggled to get going and could only manage 87/9 in their 20 overs. Sheel Patel was the standout performer, delivering a devastating spell of 4 wickets for just 9 runs in his 4 overs. His incredible bowling earned him the Player of the Match award and ensured Ontario finished the group stages on a high note.

Match 2 – Batsman Park A: Saskatchewan vs Newfoundland & Labrador

In the second match of the day, Saskatchewan faced off against Newfoundland & Labrador. Saskatchewan put up a solid batting display, scoring 153/3 in their 20 overs, with Pushpit Sharma anchoring the innings with a brilliant 78 off 59 balls. Match 3 – Batsman Park B: British Columbia vs Alberta

The third match of the day turned out to be a low-scoring thriller. British Columbia managed a modest 111/8 in their 20 overs, but it proved to be just enough as Alberta fell short, getting bowled out for 99. Sukhjinder Singh was the hero for British Columbia, taking an exceptional 5 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs. His game-changing performance earned him the Player of the Match award, sealing a crucial win for his team.

Match 4 – Batsman Park A: Prince Edward Island vs Quebec

The final match of the group stages saw Quebec take on Prince Edward Island. PEI had a tough day with the bat, getting bowled out for just 80 runs. Quebec chased down the target comfortably in 13.2 overs with 6 wickets in hand. Yashwanth Reddy once again shone with the bat, scoring 41 off 40 balls and steering Quebec to victory. He was named Player of the Match for his consistent and composed performance.
